Welcome to Mudfog Press - writing from the Tees Valley

MUDFOG PRESS works to promote new writers and writing from the Tees Valley area. The Press, run by a voluntary editorial board, publishes poetry and short stories for the most part. We put particular emphasis on the production of short pamphlets, which give writers their first opportunity of individual publication. In selecting work for publication, we aim to include a wide variety of voices and styles.

We also require work to be of a quality that readers in the Tees Valley area will enjoy reading and want to purchase. We offer strong editorial support for writers, however inexperienced, who submit work of this quality, which we decide to publish.

Mudfog Press was formed in 1993 and has published over 40 pamphlets and 2 full length collections. Several Mudfog Authors have since gone on to be published elsewhere. Mudfog has helped to put a part of Britain often dismissed as a cultural desert on the literary map.

Mudfog is a non profit making organisation run by an editorial board of volunteers dedicated to cultivating the literary talent to be found in the Tees Valley.
